living your values
an example
Here's an example of what someone's values might look like after they've completed defining their 10 values - let's call her Jocelynne. Using a "Values into Action" framework from the holsol values journal, Jocelynne spends time thinking about her work, her relationship with her partner, her spiritual life, her friends, her physical health, and her finances. She is happy in her job as a social worker - looking at her values, she sees that she has purpose there, friends, and is seen as competent and dependable. She also realizes that her physical health has really not been great - she doesn't really trust her new primary care doctor, and her goofy running partner moved away. She's missing friendship, humor, competence, and dependability. She commits to finding a new doctor she can trust, as well as a new workout-buddy. Maybe she'll even do a virtual marathon overseas to get a bit of "travel" in until she can save up for her next trip.
